Pixels has hosted what could be the very first Web3 in-game wedding.
After meeting his partner at the 2022 Axie Infinity convention, AxieCon, popular Web3 content creator Cloudwhite decided there was no better way to tie the knot than in a Web3 game — making him possibly the first to do so.
“Live streaming and hosting the wedding in Pixels Online was pivotal for my family and friends participating in Wisconsin, and Laura’s family and friends participating in Colombia,” Cloudwhite tells Web3 Gamer.
“The idea of a Web3 wedding was extremely personal to us, but it is also a viable option for family and friends from around the world that can’t make it to the physical event,” he says.
Pixels is a laid-back adventure game where players can farm, explore, own land and flex NFTs within the community. The game got behind the wedding by offering exclusive in-game wedding outfits.

Gamers who attended the wedding got to dress up and look sharp while celebrating Cloudwhite’s special moment.
The turnout was so big that Cloudwhite is probably thankful the event was virtual, or he’d be hit with a huge bill. 3,789 users bought suits, and 1,865 went for wedding dresses.
Cloudwhite admits he’s a bit “jealous” of everyone who got to attend because they enjoyed all the fun in-game experiences while he was caught up with other stuff, like making one of the biggest commitments of his life.
He explains that one of his favorite moments was “watching people create their own side events in-game, such as the bachelor party at The Drunken Goose.”
Cloudwhite and his partner, Laura, tied the knot at Terra Villa Central in the Pixels game on Sept. 7, and it quickly became a hot topic in the Web3 gaming community.
Even Sky Mavis, the creator of Axie Infinity and the Ronin network that Pixels is based on, shared the news on social media.
